I love my cars and I unfortunately have a rather expensive taste....as many of you probably already know. So no little Daihatsu or whatever car will suite my taste. My long term plan is to save up for a cool* car but that’s gona take some time to save up...im looking at 3yrs.
Anyhow recently i saw the trailer for Transporter 2, which looks great....I loved the first one..anyhow there is the new Audi A8 W12....yes people I can spell its not a V its a W12. anyhow it looked hot, so i thought ill go into a showroom and have a look.. There is a dealer out in Artarmon on the Pacific Hw...so me and another mate Morgz came along....now people at prestige car dealers can be a mixed bag....some are nice people who will show cars to whoever who walks in and there are those who want to know what American Express card you have or your previous car...I have had this question asked from me before and its quite annoying...cause we drive a shitty 1983 Mitsubishi Magna.
So you end up having to lie to them anyhow…not that I like it but think of it….car dealers aren’t the most honest people either.
Anyhow we walked in and asked if they had an A8....which by the way costs about $180K. So the receptionist paged a dealer to come show us...the dealer was a nice dude...he knew his cars, but just in case we told him were from a film studio and we are buying a car for the executive director...he believed us...and proceeded with enthusiasm to show us the cars....but the prob was there was no A8 :( as you can guess not too many people buy A8s with an over $100k price tag. He showed us the A6 because it has a cool navigation system computer which is reminiscent to the BMW idrive which the A8 has too….but man its so intuitive....think of BMW as Windows 98 and the Audi as Mac OS X. Anyhow on the Audi the idrive system is called MMi....but see even if I had the money …..the major problem with the A8 is that it has an aluminium frame which makes the car light…which is good…but its insurance price sky rockets too….bad.
I also love Army vehicles and there can be no more Army vehicle than the Humvee...sure it weigs as much as 4 Toyota echos and eats as much petrol as a bus that can carry ten times more people…I think its 20L per 100ks..but i just love the thing. anyhow I called a guy on Carpoint.com.au who was selling a 2nd hand Humvee....for all you who have no idea what a Humvee is have a look here: ( http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?UsedCarID=781224&TabID=3328&Alias=carpointau )
The guy was really nice…James I think it was...he was ex-aussy army....he bought it from Kuwait, man the car had an interesting history....apparently the US Marines sold like 300 of these beasts to buy some power generators off the Saudis after the first Gulf war...interesting trade...just makes you wonder why causse the Saudis didn't need that many and ended up auctioning most of them off...which is where this cute little baby came from.
But i think at the end of the day i will end up getting a BMW 530i......the new shape... in about 3yrs time..Should be around $60 - $70k...unless my friends and family convince me to do something stupid and put it for an investment on a property.
* My definition of a cool car I have found is very different to many people...well lets see firstly it needs to fit the following criteria...it needs to be
A. Made in Germany
B. Or...Made in USA (This is due to 1 car in paticular...the Hummer H1 or better known as the Humvee)
C. GPS (I am bad with street directories)
D. Ability to be Up-armoured
*Sorry Ladan about this boring post...and anyone else which this put them to sleep

Hi, I see your blog is talking about Hummers. Are you looking for anything related to Hummers or Humvees? Hummers, or Hummer parts & accessories? And the best part, every item can be had at auction prices. Just wanted to pass this tidbit of info along. Thanks.
